VISA Credit Card Upgrade – October 2021

Attention SPX FCU VISA Credit Cardholders:

Your new SPX FCU Credit Card will be arriving the week of 10/18/2021 and can be activated/used on 10/25/2021. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Credit Union at:

Key Dates:

October 13, 2021

  • New credit cards will be mailed 10/13/2021 via USPS. Expect delivery of cards the week of 10/18/2021.

October 25, 2021

  • Members’ current credit cards will continue to work until 10/25/2021 at 6:45am.
  • On or after 10/25/2021 at 6:45am, members should activate and begin to use their new card. Please note: activation and usage of the new card will not be permitted prior to 10/25/2021 at 6:45am.
  • Card activation instructions will be provided with the new card.

Answers to the three most common questions that we have received:

  1. Please note that your online access to the ezcardinfo website will cease on 10/22. Access to eCS will begin on 10/25. Please see information below pertain to the website for eCS Real-time credit card information.
  2. If you received paper Visa Credit Card statements in the mail prior to this upgrade, you will continue to receive paper statements. Setting up online access to eCS is not required. However, online access is recommended to members to frequently monitor account activity.
  3. Please do not confuse your Visa Credit Card with the MasterCard Debit Card product we offer. This upgrade is only impacting members with Visa Credit Cards.

As a security feature, all cards being issued with this conversion will have a unique card number and will arrive separately. However, you will continue to receive only one bill, regardless of the number of cards on the account.

Access to eCS: Real-time credit card information:

  • Access to this site will begin on 10/25/2021.
  • Through eCS you will have the ability to view the following online: transactions, pending activity, payment information and custom email alerts, plus sign up for electronic statements.
  • This site will replace our previous vendors website of ezcardinfo.
  • Once you gain access to eCS, please reestablish payment information, set up custom alerts and signup for electronic statements.
  • Please note that your online access to the ezcardinfo website will cease on 10/22. Access to eCS will begin on 10/25.

Payments:

ACH Payments (preferred method)

 

  • ACH payments will allow you to make an automatic payment on your credit card from a financial institution. You can setup and manage ACH payments through eCS at https://onlinebanking.firstdata.com/ecs/st-pius-x-church-cu
  • Members that had payments set up in the ezcardinfo site will need to reestablish/setup new payment information.

Mailing Payments

If you mail in your payments, please use one of the following methods:

 

  • Credit Union Office: 2998 Chili Avenue, Rochester NY 14624 or
  • P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711 (This is the payment address that will be printed on your statement).
  • Checks should be made payable to St. Pius X Church Federal Credit Union or SPXFCU.

 

Questions & Answers:

Why am I receiving a new credit card?

SPX FCU is changing credit card processors to better serve your credit card needs. This change requires that a new card be issued.

 

Will my interest rate change as part of this conversion and card issue?

No. Your interest rate and other terms on your account will not be changing.

 

How do I mange my Credit Card Online?

You can manage your Credit Card online at: https://onlinebanking.firstdata.com/ecs/st-pius-x-church-cu

This website access is referred to as eCS and will allow members access to real-time credit card information, including transactions, pending activity, payment information and custom email alerts, plus sign up for electronic statements.

 

Will I have a new PIN number so I can access cash from my credit card?

You will no longer receive a PIN in the mail, and your old PIN will not work with the new card. You can select your unique PIN by calling the number on the activation label and choosing the PIN option.

 

My existing card does not expire for quite a while – can I continue using my existing card until the expiration?

No. Your existing card will not work after 10/25/2021 at 6:45 a.m. Please activate your new card on or after 10/25/2021 at 6:45am.

 

My credit card account has multiple owners and multiple cards- will each of us receive a card?

Yes. As a security feature, all cards being issued with this conversion will have a unique number and will arrive separately. However, you will continue to receive only one bill, regardless of the number of cards on the account.

 

What do I need to do if I have preauthorized or recurring payments that are tied to my existing SPX FCU credit card?

To ensure there is no interruption in recurring or preauthorized payments (such as monthly telephone, electricity, gas bills, insurance, clubs), contact the merchant on or after 10/25/2021 at 6:45 a.m. with your new card number and expiration date.

 

Will the due date for my credit card payment change?

No. Your due date will stay the same.

 

Will I need to send my payment to a new location after the conversion?

Yes. The new address will be included on the statement. If you pay this bill through online bill payment, you will need to update the mailing address to P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711 on or after 10/25/2021 to ensure that your payment reaches the processor by your due date. Payments can also be mailed to the Credit Union Office at: 2998 Chili Avenue, Rochester NY 14624.

 

What happens if I already sent in a credit card payment that will arrive close to the conversion date?

Your payment will be applied to your new card. Please note that it may take a few business days for this payment activity to be posted to your new card. For future payments, please ensure you have updated your payment information.

 

I set up my monthly credit card payment as an automatic ACH transfer, payroll deduction or as a recurring transfer. Do I have to make any changes?

To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact the provider of this service (i.e., another bank or bill pay service) on or after the 10/25/2021 provide your new card number and payment address of P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711.

 

What is UChoose Rewards®?

uChoose Rewards® is a rewards program that earns you points for using your SPX FCU credit card on and after 10/25/2021.

 

Do I need to register my credit card before I can start earning points?

No, you will start earning points the first time you make a transaction with your new credit card. However, you will need to register your card before you will be able to redeem your points. A link to uChoose Rewards® will be provided on the eCS (real-time credit card information website).

 

How do I register my card for uChoose Rewards® to redeem rewards?

Through our eCS, a link to uChoose Rewards® will be provided to members.

 

How do I start earning points?

Every time you make a purchase with your card, you’ll earn 1.5 points for every $1.00 you spend. Plus, you can earn additional points by shopping in-store or online with participating retailers.

 

Where can I earn points?

You earn points everywhere your VISA® credit card is accepted. Participating retailers offer additional reward points for purchases made at their stores or online.

 

Where can I view my point activity?

You can access the history of your point activity through uchooserewards.com. A link to uChoose Rewards® will be provided on the eCS (real-time credit card information website).

 

When can I redeem points?

It can take up to 40 days for your points to be credited to your account. You must first accumulate 1,500 points before you can redeem them. Your points are available to view online and a link will be provided on eCS (real-time credit card information website).

 

Can I share points with family members?

All credit cards within an account automatically earn points together. Additionally, you will be allowed to share points with other SPX FCU members.

 

How much does it cost to participate in uChoose Rewards®?

There’s no cost to participate. Membership in UChoose Rewards® is free as part of your SPX FCU credit card plan for converted Members.

iBanking Versatiles Theme Upgrade

Our SPX FCU iBanking platform is getting an upgrade! Improvements to iBanking will take effect on Monday, March 29, 2021.

iBanking will be displayed in a Versatile Theme. The advantages to this theme is that users will have easy access to commonly used features.

Navigation on the Mobile App

If you already have our app installed, the versatile theme will automatically populate once you login. If you would like to download our mobile app, please search for SPXFCU in the App Store or Google Play Store.  See our Mobile page for additional information on where to find our app: SPX FCU – Mobile App

Once you have accessed the App, the versatile theme offers easy access to: Accounts, Make a Transfer, Pay My Bills, Card Manager, Transfer Activity and Deposit a Check.

Please note that on the top right corner is a drop-down menu (three horizontal lines). Select this drop-down menu to access all the features available in iBanking. Some useful features that we would like to emphasize to Members include:

  1. eDocuments –  By selecting this feature, you will enroll in eStatements and your statements can be viewed electronically.
  2. Messages – By selecting “New Message”, you can securely communicate to an SPX FCU employee with questions and/or concerns. Responses to messages will be returned within 1 business day.
  3. Mobile Services –
    1. Biometrics: setup facial recognition or fingerprint access depending on mobile device capabilities.
    2. Manage Fast Balance: Check selected account balances at the login screen, without having to actually log into iBanking.

 

 

Navigation on the Desktop

Commonly used features are presented on the home screen in tile format, such as: Accounts, Quick Links, Pay Bills, Transfer Activity, Inbox, Deactivate/ Reactivate My Debit Card, Contact Info and Make a Transfer.

Please note that all the features from the previous theme are still accessible in the green bar at the top. Select My Accounts, Transfer Funds and Service Center to access additional iBanking features.

Also, tiles on the homepage can be moved/arranged to accommodate users preference. If there is a tile you would like hidden from the homepage, select the (circled v) image in the top right to hide or pin.

Some useful features that we would like to emphasize to Members include:

  1. eDocuments –  By selecting My Accounts in the top green menu you can access eStatements. By selecting this feature, you will enroll in eStatements and your statements can be viewed electronically.
  2. Messages – On the Home Screen there is an Inbox where you can securely communicate to an SPX FCU employee with questions and/or concerns. Just select “compose now” in the top right corner. Responses to messages will be returned within 1 business day.
  3. Service Center –
    1. Edit profile (such as email, address, phone number)
    2. Create an alert
    3. Stop payment on a check
    4. Card services – notify us of travel, replace a card, deactivate a card
    5. And much more…

Father Murphy High School Tuition Assistance Program

The Father Murphy Scholarship Trust Fund is accepting applications from families interested in receiving aid for McQuaid, Aquinas, Bishop Kearney and Our Lady of Mercy High Schools.  Applicants must be Saint Pius Tenth Parishioners or Alumni of Saint Pius Tenth School. Application forms may be obtained in the PDF links below. Requests for assistance must be postmarked by April 15, 2021.

The Rochester Chapter of the New York Credit Union Association will award a minimum of $10,000 in scholarship funds to outstanding high school seniors that are members of participating Rochester Chapter Credit Unions. The student must complete the scholarship application in full and send their completed application along with an activity/extra-curricular resume and essay to the address on the cover page of the application. Applications must be post-marked or emailed on or before February 26, 2021. Scholarship winners ONLY will be notified on or before May 1, 2021.
